About Yates Mediation – Independent Civil Dispute Mediation Experts

Committed to impartial and clear mediation

Yates Mediation was founded by Sam Yates to provide specialist mediation services for disputes involving accessibility, equality, education, workplaces and the built environment.

Sam Yates

Sam's professional background is unusual within the mediation profession.

Before becoming a mediator, he worked as a commercial property solicitor, secondary school teacher, workplace representative for a teaching trade union and accessibility professional. This combination of experience provides a unique understanding of the legal, practical and human factors that often sit behind conflict.

Sam is an accredited mediator who practises exclusively through facilitative mediation.

His role is not to judge, advise or determine who is right or wrong. Instead, he helps people have constructive conversations, explore different perspectives and develop solutions that work for everyone involved.

Alongside his mediation work, Sam holds NRAC accreditation and has extensive knowledge of accessibility, the Equality Act, heritage environments and reasonable adjustments.

He also brings lived experience of disability and care systems, providing valuable insight into the real-world impact that accessibility and inclusion issues can have on individuals and organisations.

This combination of expertise makes Yates Mediation particularly well placed to support disputes involving:

  • Disability discrimination

  • Reasonable adjustments

  • Accessibility of buildings and services

  • Workplace inclusion

  • Education and SEN matters

  • Heritage accessibility

  • Public sector equality duties

Yates Mediation is built on the belief that most disputes can be resolved when people are given the right environment, the right process and the opportunity to be heard.
